Most of you know that I have now moved to Gainesville, GA and have started in an apprenticeship program at Adventures in Missions known as the Center for Global Action (or CGA). It has been so much fun here so far and I wish I could share all of my wonderful experiences with all of you but that would take a little long.
Instead of doing that today, I want to share with you the ‘why’ behind me being here and in this apprenticeship program.
Last year, traveling on The World Race, was one of the most impacting experiences I have ever had. I was able to see a lot of new places and meet a lot of amazing people, which was great, but I was also able to go on this amazing journey with just me and The Lord.
I dug into the hard things that were not fun to look at. My selfish tendencies were revealed to me, and the fact that I was always comparing myself to others nearly ruined me. I got to be vulnerable with my squad mates about past addictions I’ve had and in turn I realized that I’m not alone in my struggles.
All of these things were so hard to go through but at the same time were the best struggles I could ever ask for. They have not only made me a better person, but also have helped me realize that my true identity lies in Jesus Christ. I am not a sinner who has been forgiven but a daughter who has been redeemed.
This is the journey I went on and this journey is possible for everyone.
Adventures in Missions is a place that helps cultivate that same journey for everyone and anyone who wants to have deeper intimacy with the Father and travel on The World Race, Gap Year, Passport or any other programs they have to offer. This is why I want to be here!
Everyday I get the privilege of coming to this office to learn and work in a culture that strives to lift others up in their relationship with The Lord and I am so grateful for this opportunity to help steer others towards these amazing experiences.
