CGA has started and it has been a whirlwind of so many things going on in the last few days. For those of you who don’t know, I came to CGA late, it started for everyone who is also in the program here in Gainesville last Friday September 11. I however, has a prior engagement (my sister’s wedding) and so I arrived here on Monday evening. It was nice to settle in to my house and see the area a little bit; then on Tuesday I was dropped off in the woods to meet a team who had already been camping for a day and a half.
I arrived and it was great..until Wednesday when they told each of us we had to spend the entire day by ourselves. For me, being an extreme extrovert, this was a challenge. I was forced to sit alone with God and deal with some things that I either didn’t want to deal with or didn’t know I needed to deal with.
I took this time to figure out what God really wanted for me in this next season, and found out a lot of things I needed to do, like deal with some pride issues I didn’t know I had and figuring out that I need to take more time to rest and not be so busy day in and day out.
Everyone needs time like this, whether it be out in the woods alone with just you and the Lord, or sitting on your couch with your morning coffee and just speaking with Him. We all need this time. So I encourage all of you to take the time you need with God and find out what He really wants for you right now or maybe some things you just need to work on. It’s not easy (believe me) but in the end you’ll be able to look back and be so satisfied that you were able to do it.
