There I was, standing on the shoreline with Him. Our toes in the sand, letting the water wash over them. He reached down and grabbed a handful of something immersed below the surface of the waves: sea glass. There were only white pieces in His hand.
He looked at me.
“Amy, this is what I see you as: clean and pure. When the glass is in the water it is so pure you can see right through it. Stay in the water, overtaken by my love and goodness because when you stay resting in me you will continually be able to see yourself as I see you.”
I stood there, speechless, mesmerized by His words. Words spoken to me that hold my identity, words that encompass my worth.
It has taken me a long time to realize that my heavenly Father sees me as flawless, and honestly it can still be a struggle some times, but He is so good that every time I ask Him for reassurance He gives it to me in a way that I need to hear it.
I’ve come to let Him into these places and identify the areas that are hurting and broken so He can start healing them. He speaks to me sweetly like this and I hear it. I hear His voice spoken softly in my ear as He calls me His daughter and tells me how valuable I am.
He’s a good, good Father, it’s who He is; and I am loved by Him, it’s who I am.
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” 1 John 3:1
How has the Father spoken to you? What does He say about you? How does He see you?
These are amazing questions to ask Him if you never have. When you do sit and ask Him and wait for His response He will answer you and speak amazing truths over you. All you have to do is give Him the space.
